Jari-Matti Latvala completa lo shakedown del Rally Australia 2011 con il miglior tempo su tutti. Il pilota Ford ha fatto registrare il miglior tempo di 1 minuto e 58,9 secondi sui cinque giri dei 3,77 km dello shakedown. Petter Solberg, sulla Citroen DS£ WRC privata, lo segue con appena 0,2 secondi.
Al terzo posto, a 0,7 secondi, troviamo invece Hannin Solberg sulla Ford Fiesta RS WRC della M-Sport, mentre Sebastien Ogier deve accontentarsi di stare davanti a Mikko Hirvonen e Sebastien Loeb.
Problemi alla Fiesta RS WRC del Russo Evgeny Novikov che a causa di una nota errata finisce fuori strada al secondo giro, danneggiando l’anteriore della sua vettura e costringendo il pilota ad abbandonare prima del tempo lo shakedown.
