Villagra, che è arrivato in Spagna Mercoledì mattina ha dichiarato: “Forse non gareggiare nel WRC per tre mesi mi ha aiutato. Questa è la prima volta che guido questa macchina sull’asfalto, ma è solo lo shakedown.”
Sebastien Ogier, su Citroen DS3 WRC, ha invece concluso lo shakedown con il terzo miglior tempo di pari passo con Jari-Matti Latvala e Henning Solberg. Mentre il contendente al titolo, Mikko Hirvonen, è stato il sesto pilota più veloce seguito da Sebastien Loeb ( che fa solo tre giri ) e Mads Ostberg ad appena 1 decimo di secondo.
