How do you start your career?
Come hai iniziato la carriera?
“I started my career competing in latvia in the latvian rally championship, driving a fiesta ST we did 2 years out there when i was 15 & 16 years old.”

“Sebastien Loeb, because of what he has achieved i grew up watching him in the wrc.”

The car that gave you most satisfaction and why ?
Qual’è la macchina che ti ha dato più soddisfazioni e perchè?
“Proton Super 2000 car: fast easy to drive, proper drivers car, harder you drive the car, the better it works with the driver. And we had good memories as well, in Thailand and rally gb.”

What’s your favourite rally in the world and why?
Qual’è il tuo rally preferito nel mondo e perchè?
“Rallye Monte Carlo, i really like the unpredictably of the rally, one stage you can snow/ice/rain all in one, makes tyre choice a big gamble, and really makes you think mentally for tactics as a driver. You can lose 1 minute on one stage because of being on the wrong tyre, then make the time you lost on the next stage because your tyre choice will be good for the conditions.”
“Rally di Montecarlo,mi piace molto davvero un rally imprevedibile,in una prova puoi avere neve/ghiaccio/pioggia tutti in una,la scelta delle gomme è una scommessa,ti fa pensare tatticamente come un pilota.Puoi perdere 1 minuto in una prova perchè hai le gomme sbagliate,poi recuperare nella prova successiva perchè hai le gomme saranno giuste per le condizioni”

What do you think about a national rally championship only for R3,R2,R1 cars? BRC did the right choise?
Cosa pensi del campionato nazionale solo per le macchine R3,R2,R1?Il British Rally Championship ha fatto bene??
“I believe going 2wd is the uk was the wrong direction for the sport, limits to what you can do, and narrows down the options. But the competition this year was very competitive in the R3 class and R2, i have learnt a great deal this year. And we plan to continue our plans next year in a R3 car in the British Rally Championship, i believe we are the favourites to take the title in 2013 and it will be a good step up and achievement on my rally cv to become british rally champion.”
“Credo che limitare il campionato inglese alle sole 2 ruote motrici sia stata una scelta sbagliata, limita molto le possibilità di scelta.Ma quest’anno c’è stata grande competizione con le R3 e R2 ed ho imparato molto.Stiamo programmando di continuare con l’R3 anche l’anno prossimo sempre nel BRC,credo che siamo i favoriti per il titolo 2013 e diventare campione inglese sarà un ottimo passo avanti per la mia carriera”

You’re young, you feel you can improve your performance? Do special training?
Sei giovane,senti che potrai migliorare le tue performance?Fai qualche allenamento particolare?
” I am always learning, i still have a lot more to show in my pace as a driver on Tarmac and on gravel, i have proven im fast in super 2000 car, group n car, and a R3 car. My driving will improve another level next year, raising our game on each rally will hopefully improve everyone else who will compete against us in the British Rally championship next year, which will make the year a great battle against other drivers.”
“Stò continuando ad imparare,ho ancora molto da dimostrare come pilota nell’asfalto e nello sterrato,ho già dato modo di che sono veloce sia con le s2000,gruppi N che con le R3.Il mio stile di guida arriverà ad un’altro livello il prossimo anno ,qualsiasi persona che ci sfiderà nel Brc l’anno prossimo sarà utile per migliorarsi,sarà ottima anche la battaglia con questi piloti”

What do you think about Wrc Accademy?? In 2013 could be on your plans?
Cosa pensi del Wrc Accademy??Nel 2013 potrebbe essere nei tuoi piani?
“At the moment i haven’t looked at the WRC academy i want to become british rally champion and progress naturally into the world rallying scene, i feel skipping steps in my career will only be a disadvantage.”
“Al momento non ho guardato al Wrc Accademy voglio diventare il campione inglese e avanzare nella scena rallistica , un balzo troppo repentino nella mia cariera sarà solo uno svantaggio”

Young drivers in Britain receive any kind of support from GB Federation?
I giovani piloti in Inghilterra ricevono qualche supporto della federazione?
“Young drivers don’t receive any support in the UK, which i disagree with, the MSA should make more effort with young drivers financially.”
” I giovani piloti non ricevono alcun supporto in UK,sono in disaccordo con questa politica,l’MSA deve fare di più per supportare questi giovani piloti finanziariamente”

What’s your thoughs on Proton?
Qual’è il tuo pensiero su Proton?
“Chris Mellors the head of Proton Motorsports and MEM world rally team has been supportive with my rallying achievements this year, i have a good working relationship with Proton. They work very hard and are very enthusiastic and passionate about the sport, and every time i worked with them, i learnt alot. I hope we continue our relationship with them in 2013.”
“Chris Mellors il capo di Poton Motorsport and MEM world rally team ha supportato il mio insegnamento rallistico quest’anno,ho avuto un’ottima relazione con Proton.Loro lavorano molto e sono molto entusiasti e appassionati a questo sport,e ho lavorato molto con loro ed imparato molto.Spero di continuare la collaborazione con loro nel 2013.”

We will see you in more WRC events?
Ti vedremo in qualche altro evento Wrc?
“At the moment we have events planned next year in the Citroen DS3 R3 along side the British Rally Championship but not sure yet.”

You have had a good season in 2012, you’ve won the Bulldog International Rally of Wales, the International Rally of Yorkshire, finished second overall in the BRC and first in Citroen Junior Trophy, you’ve competed in a Proton Satria Neo S2000 and taking part to Wales Rally GB with PG Andersson. Are you satisfied?
Hai avuto una buona stagione nel 2012,hai vinto il Bulldog International Rally of Wales,l’International Rally of Yorkshire,hai finito secondo nel BRC e primo nel Citroen Junior Trophy,hai guidato la Proton Satria Neo S2000 e preso parte al Wales Rally GB con PG Andersson sei soddisfatto?
“Yes i am very satisfied with what i have achieved this year. winning Rally thailand was a highlight.”
“Si sono molto soddisfatto per quello che ho acquisito quest’anno.Vincere il Rally di Thailandia è stato il momento migliore”

“Full attack on the British Rally Championship in a Citroen DS3 R3.”
