INTERVISTA IN ITALIANO:

ENGLISH VERSION:

Last year you did some races wrc (Acropolis,Neste and Deutschland) was in preparation for the 2013 Junior season or tests to compare yourself in the big stage ?

” It was sort of an introduction to the WRC for us. I was only 19 and we didn’t want to jump right into the JWRC so we decided to try a couple of WRC events with our car first. To be honest our plan was to compete at 6 WRC events, the same ones that the WRC Academy had in their program, but after a big crash in Finland the car was not prepared for the remainder of the events. Plus the opportunity to start at Barum Rally with Mitsubishi Gr. N came in and since this premiere was a success we decided to stick with this car for the rest of the season plus we started one race with S2000. But when it came to season 2013 we decided for JWRC because it was the best and wisest choice considering my age”.

You started with the “junior cup trophies”do you think is a good solution for those who want to do this discipline ?

“I definitely think that JWRC really is a good option. There has always been a category where young and talented pilots were concentrated within WRC. It is a very well known and observed category and the pilots are tryint to show their best”.

Slovakia, being a state recently, has not yet known international drivers (only Beres jr) , this’ a good or a bad thing for a young man that wants to emerge in that country?

“This situation is not exactly ideal. If there is already someone from the same country who is already in the WRC it means that the young driver has someone to consult and take advice from and the advantage is that they speak the same language and share the same mentality. In my case I have to cooperate with people from foreign coutries but I am not complaining”.

You have had support from the federation in your country ?

” There is a certain support but it is nothing compared to the support of federations in countries such as France for example”.

Season 2013 in Junior WRC,above or below your expectations?

I think we can be content with our participation at JWRC 2013 since no Slovak tracks are similar to the tracks at the World Championship. Everything was new to me and I cannot say that I am fully satisfied with my ranking position but I am happy that I was able to make top 3 times on gravel as well as asphalt tracks”.

The WRC championship remains the most ‘interesting,What do you think of the races and their organization?

“The WRC can never be outperformed by any other championship, it has a long tradition and in my personal opinion there wasn’t and still isn’t anything better”.

You have only 20 years old but you’re on your fifth season rally, you started very soon?

” Yes I really did start very young. It is a family tradition, since both my father (as a co-driver) and my uncle (as a pilot) used to race together at Slovak tracks since 1983. They were also the fonders of our team, Styllex motorsport. My father was a co-driver here until 1999. In 1994, my father alongside with Jozef Béreš senior won the Slovak Rally Championship. Personally, I have been preparing for my career since I was 6 years old. I have to say that after entering the WRC I felt like I was starting again from the beginning but it is very natural and by now I feel comfortable during WRC events”.

2014 season can you tell us your plans for the future?

“I would like to continue in JWRC and continue to build on the foundations we’ve layed in season 2013. Of course, we are still waiting to see how what the conditions of JWRC 2014 turn out to be. Afterwards we will decide which WRC category we want to join during the next season”.

This year you’ve competed a lot with you and Petr Stary served a codriver with a lot of experience?

“It was a great cooperation, Petr really gave me a lot. He is an excellent co-driver”.

FIA Junior WRC, how did you find this championship ?

“It was basically a team decision, like I said it really is the best way to start in WRC”.

Portugal,Acropolis,Finland, deutschland,Alsace and Spain:characteristics of these race?

“Every event is very specific. The most striking event for me was Finland, I enjoyed it enormously”.
