Special Stage 6: Muracciole – Col de Sorba (48,46 km)

Weather: sunny with some clouds

Road Conditions: dry and clean roads. Some water going up hill towards Col de Sorba. Some pine needles under the trees.

7. NEUVILLE/GILSOUL:

« It’s a beautiful stage, probably one of the nicest of the championship. We had a bit of under-steer that took some of our confidence but allover it went OK. The stage is dry nearly everywhere. »

1. OGIER/INGRASSIA:

« I don’t now how we damaged the body but we had a safe drive through. »

9. MIKKELSEN/FLOENE:

« We try to keep a good pace but we struggled a bit with under steer. Not a maximum attack. It’s a long but beautiful stage. Some spectators are in very bad places. »

4. OSTBERG/ANDERSSON:

« I am happy with my pace but I am not happy with my time. »

3. MEEKE/NAGLE:

« The grip was OK over 90% of the stage. We will see what happens tomorrow in terms of weather conditions. »

« The car is moving a lot so it’s hard to have a good feeling. I felt I was going well in some places and not as well in some others. We are here that is the most important. »

6. TANAK/MOLDER:

« We are doing the best we can to be safe. »

20. PADDON/KENNARD:

« It’s a proper tarmac rally now. Some places were still slightly damp. I struggled a bit with the notes. »

8. SORDO/MARTI:

« I didn’t have the right set-up. We were told that it might rain so we adapted our settings and eventually it was wrong… »

21. PROKOP/TOMANEK:

« A very nice stage. At least it was dry even if our time is not good. We really enjoyed it and we hope the rest of the rally will be like that. »

12. LEFEBVRE/PREVOT:

« We drove well and we are having a good time. »

37. BERTELLI/GRANAI:

« I spun at the start of the stage and had to reverse to restart. Apart from we are having a good time.»

« It was really long. It’s a good time for us. The grip was not always perfect as the road was dusty on some parts. »

25. DELECOUR/DE CASTELLI:

« I was having fun but not flat out. »

« This morning was very tricky so I was very cautious. I am very happy with this last stage as I feel more at ease being a former racetrack driver. I was able to really push. »

57. ROSSEL/FULCRAND:

« I am disappointed as everything was going well before I lost the brakes after the first part going downhill. »

« I feel I had a good rhythm even if the stage was very long. We are setting a nice time. »

« Of course we expect to win the category but I didn’t push that hard. I had the right set-ups and drove in a clean way as on a track. »

« I started in a cautious but managed to speed up so I am quite happy. »

70. BERFA/AUGUSTIN:

« I had to slow down as we lost our brakes in the middle of the stage. The guys in front are very fast. »

63. DELLA CASA/POZZI:

« It’s a fantastic stage! I am not very familiar with very long stages. I still need to learn how to manage the rhythm and all my efforts during this kind of exercise. »

33. RENDINA/INGLESI:

« It was difficult to find the right pace as there are many changes in the rhythm. Our brakes are not the strongest strength of our Group N so they were a bit struggling. »

65. LOUBET/LANDAIS:

« I made a mistake in the middle of the stage braking too late and I spun. I lost about twenty seconds in this incident.»

73. SOLANS/IBANEZ:

« I probably made a mistake in the tire pressure as they were overheating. »

« It went well. I lost my brakes at some point but they managed to cool down and I could use them again with efficiency after a fast portion of the stage. »

55. A L MUTAWAA/MCAULEY:

« The road was a bit damp by the end of the stage. I was cautious. »

« I have to keep an eye on my rear view mirror as Tideman starts behind me and can catch me up. It was difficult for me to keep myself concentrated. I went off but managed to come back. »

39.TIDEMAND/AXELSSON:

« I punctured the left rear tire but I don’t know how. »

34. GIORDANO/SARREAUD:

« It’s a beautiful stage, very fast, and I was a bit anxious not to be able to find the right rhythm. 15 kilometres before the end I passed Tideman who was back after having changed his wheel. He finished the stage behind me and I lost a bit of my concentration checking on him constantly on my rear-view mirror. »

84. PROTASOV/CHEREPIN:

« It’s a very long stage with many changes in the rhythm. It’s a great experience for me. »

« It’s easier than in the previous stages. I didn’t take any risks. We adopted a pace that would allow us to reach safely the finish. I am not very happy with my driving. »

92. VILLA/DINI:

« At least a stress free stage! It’s so much better when the roads are dry. I felt a kind of a vibration in the rear brakes. As I am familiar enough with the car I preferred to slow down. »

105. CAMPANA/SAVIGNONI:

« Because of the length of that stage we had to manage our brakes.
