Burcu Cetinkaya: “Che bello tornare in Italia dopo 12 anni”.

Era il Rallye di Sanremo 2010, allora valido per l’International Rally Challenge, l’ultima apparizione italiana di Burcu Cetinkaya e Cicek Guney, che sono tornate a correre il Italia alla prima edizione del Logiman Mythical Cars Rally. Un Rally sperimentale, di carattere Internazionale, che ci ha permesso di intervistare Burcu Cetinkaya.

1. Parliamo di Burcu i tuoi inizi, la tua carriera e il tuo legame con l’Italia.

“Ho iniziato a fare rally quando avevo 24 anni dopo un periodo di lotte e sogni durato 12 anni. Ho vinto il mio primo titolo di campionessa femminile turca nel 2006. Ho vinto la mia prima vittoria nella categoria mista vincendo il Fiesta Sporting Trophy nel 2008 in Turchia. Ho iniziato a correre a livello internazionale nel 2007 con il Belgian Rally Championship. Ho fatto il mio primo rally in Italia nel 2008 con il Fiesta Sporting Trophy International al Sardegna Rally. Dopo aver terminato la FFSTI al 2° posto nella categoria. Volevo passare ad auto più veloci dove mi è stata data l’opportunità nel 2009 dove ho guidato la Fiat Punto S2000 nel Rally Adriatico con Fabrizia Pons. Pier Lİberali di United Business è diventato il mio manager e con i miei cari amici Michele di 3D Beta, Luigi di OMP e Pier abbiamo avuto molte opportunità e avventure a venire. Ho fatto anche il Rally di Azzano con la Peugeot 207 S 2000 e dove abbiamo seguito l’IRC Intercontinental Rally Challenge come Peugeot Sport Turchia, ho fatto San Remo e la Sardegna in Italia nel 2010”.

2) Quali sono i principali vantaggi di questo Mythical Cars Rally e cosa vorresti migliorare?

“Il Mythical Cars Rally è stato un grande evento promozionale con molti piloti e auto interessanti. Ho ricominciato la mia carriera dopo uno stop completo di 5 anni con il Turkish Rally Championship quest’anno e grazie al Mythical Cars Rally sono tornato anche in Italia dopo 12 anni. Questo è stato adorabile. Per vedere vecchi amici, spettatori, squadre. Penso che l’unica cosa da migliorare sarebbe aggiungere più auto alla lista di partenza e fare molti altri anni di Mythical Cars Rally finché non diventa una vera leggenda. Che credo avverrà”.

3) Quali sono state le tue impressioni alla guida di una vettura totalmente nuova come la Mini R4 del team Gino WRC?

“Il Gino WRC Team e la Mini R4 per me un’auto nuovissima, e dopo una breve introduzione ci siamo ritrovati direttamente nelle prove speciali. Ho adorato l’auto. L’ultima auto potente che ho guidato è stata Ford Fiesta R5, la Skoda S2000, la Peugeot 207 S 2000 quindi ho dovuto reimparare a non guidare a regimi troppo alti poiché questa macchina è totalmente diversa ma molto potente e molto facile da guidare. Ringrazio davvero Gino WRC Team, Pier Liberali, 3D Beta, OMP e i miei sponsor di Turkiye; Parkur Auto elettriche da corsa e da pilota. L’unica cosa è che quando mi sono abituata alla macchina, il rally è finito quindi, vorrei guidare al più presto”.

4) Progetti futuri nei rally o nel motorsport.

“Abbiamo il 3° round del Turkish Rally Championship il 10-11 giugno a Eskisehir che farò con una Fiat Ege 180 cv con cambio non standard e trazione anteriore. Dopodiché ci sarà una pausa dove preparerò alcune sorprese. Forse possiamo condividerlo più tardi. Incrociamo le dita”.

5) Tornerai presto a correre in Italia? Se sì, dove ti piacerebbe di più?

“Lo vorrei. Mi piacerebbe tornare un giorno al Campionato Italiano Terra e in assoluto alla Sardegna”.

1)Let’s talk about Burcu your beginnings, your career and your connection with Italy

“I started rallying when I was 24 years old after a struggle and dreaming period of 12 years. I won my first champion title as Turkish ladies champion in 2006. I won my first mixed category win by winning the Fiesta Sporting Trophy in 2008 in the mixed category in Turkey. I started racing internationally in 2007 with the Belgian Rally Championship. I did my first rally in Italy in 2008 with Fiesta Sporting Trophy International Sardegna Rally. After finishing FFSTI in 2nd place mixed category. I wanted to move on to faster cars where I was given the opportunity in 2009 where I drove the Fiat Punto S2000 in Rally Adriatico with Fabrizia Pons. Pier Lİberali from United Business became my manager and with my dear friends Michele from 3D Beta, Luigi from OMP and Pier we had many opportunities and adventures to come. I also did Azzano Rally with Peugeot 207 S 2000 and where we followed the IRC Intercontinental Rally Challenge as Peugeot Sport Turkey, I did San Remo and Sardegna in Italy in 2010”.

2) What are the main advantages of this Mythical Cars Rally and what would you like to improve?

“Mythical Cars Rally was a big promotional event with many interesting driver and cars. I restarted my career after a 5 year complete stop with the Turkish Rally Championship this year and thanks to Mythical Cars Rally I also came back in Italy after 12 years. This was lovely. To see old friends, spectators, teams. I think the only thing to improve would be add more cars to the start list and do many more years of Mythical Cars Rally until it becomes a real legend. Which I believe will be”.

3) What were your impressions driving a totally new car like the Mini R4 of the Gino WRC team?

“Gino WRC Team and the Mini R4 was a very new car, and after a short introduction we found ourself directly in the stages. I loved the car. Last powerful car I drove were Ford Fiesta r5, Skoda S2000, Peugeot 207 S 2000 so I had to relearn not to drive in too high RPMS since this car is totally different but yet very powerful and very easy to drive. So I am really thanking Gino WRC Team, Pier Liberali, 3D Beta, OMP and my sponsors from Turkiye ; Parkur Racing and Pilot Electric Cars. Only thing is just when I got used to the car, the rally finished so, I wish to drive more soon”.

4) Future plans in rallies or motorsport

“We have the 3rd round of the Turkish Rally Championship in 10-11 of June in Eskisehir that I will do with a Fiat Ege 180 hp not standard gearbox and front wheel drive. After that there will be a break where I will be preparing some surprises. Maybe we can share this later. Fingers crossed”.

5) Will you return to racing in Italy soon? If yes, where would you most like to?

“I wish. I would love to come back to Italian Gravel Championship and absolutely Sardegna some day”.
